University of Puget Sound, Archives & Special CollectionsRonald R. Thomas served as the 13th President of the University of Puget Sound from 2003-2016. He had an academic background in Victorian literature and culture and was the author of numerous scholarly publications, including chapters for more than fourteen books and three books of his own on a wide range of subjects. This collection consists of three versions of the manuscript for his work, Detective Fiction and the Rise of Forensic Science (1999).

Euphemia Dimick memoir and other writings, 1916-circa 1951
Oregon Historical Society Research LibraryWritings by Euphemia Dimick (1877-1967) of Oregon, including diary entries and a memoir titled "Through the Wilderness." The writings relate to Dimick's experiences raising her daughter, Ruth Elizabeth Dimick (1916-1974). Ruth Dimick had athetoid cerebral palsy, a condition marked by difficulty with motor skills, which was not well understood or accommodated in the early 20th century.

Springing from the Rocks: The Story of Wilhoit Mineral Springs, 2024
Oregon Historical Society Research LibraryHistorical information and images about Wilhoit Springs, near Molalla, Oregon, compiled by Judith Sanders Chapman and Lois E. Helvey Ray. Wilhoit Springs is named after John Wilhoit (1815-1895), who purchased the land. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a health resort was located at the springs. The site was eventually purchased by Clackamas County and developed as a county park.
