Carolyn McCoy, born February 12, 1945, would spend her younger years in Columbia while her father, Wayne McCoy, an engineer that graduated from the University of Idaho, worked on a gold and platinum mining company there. Carolyn McCoy would go on to become an audiologist, getting her degree at the University of Oregon.
