Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Trisha N. Davis received a B.A. in both computer science and biology from University of California Santa Cruz in 1976, followed by a Ph.D. in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University in 1983. She held a postdoctoral fellowship in biochemistry and University of California at Berkeley 1983-1987, then received an appointment as assistant professor of biochemistry at the University of Washington in December 1987. She remained at the University of Washington for the rest of her career, becoming associate professor in July 1994 and full professor in July 2001, and finally professor emeritus in July 2024. She was chair of the University of Washington Department of Biochemistry May 2013 to June 2024, after having served as interim chair starting in December 2011. Davis was also director of the Yeast Resource Center, a National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Biomedical Technology Research Center, September 2001-December 2016.
