Biographical Note
Mary Hooper Blood Linford (1869-1963) was born on November 6, 1869 in Kaysville, Utah, to Jane Wilkie Hooper and William Blood. She was educated at Brigham Young College and the Utah State Agricultural College. She married James Henry Linford on February 24, 1892. The couple had six sons and one daughter. Linford was named Utah Mother of the Year by the Utah Federated Women's Clubs in 1950. In addition to being an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was a member of the Clio Club, the Utah State Agricultural College Faculty Women's League, and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Her brother, Henry H. Blood, was Utah's seventh governor. Mary Hooper Blood Linford died on March 30, 1963.
Content Description
The Mary Hooper Blood Linford photograph collection consists of 2 boxes containing 200 black-and-white and color photographs of the Linford family genealogy, including Mary Hooper Blood Linford's family, friends, and homes; LDS Hospital night nurses in 1917; the Samoan Islands; and photographs of Linford family travels and celebrations of holidays and birthdays. Box 2 is oversized and contains large-format photographs of the Linford family and the Old Ashcroft Farmhouse. The collection dates from approximately 1900 to the 1960s.
