Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Gary Breschini was born in 1946 in Salinas, California. He received his PhD in Archaeology from Washington State University in 1975. As an archaeologist, he researched California Central Coast Native American sites, and was specifically interested in the migration and lifestyle of the Native American people of the area. He co-wrote several books with Trudy Haversat, his wife, on the subject, including: “Esselen Indians of the Big Sur Country” and “10,000 Years On the Salinas Plain: An Illustrated History of Salinas City, California”. They also established Coyote Press, a specialty publisher that provided out of print research material to archaeologists, colleges and other institutions. He died in 2018.
