Larry King photographic collection, circa 1890-1909

Abstract: Collection consisting of 61 glass negatives, and of copy prints and photocopies made from the negatives to provide access to the images. Many of the images are stereographs on a single glass negative. Subjects and scenes include people in horse-drawn vehicles at the Rose City Sanitarium in Portland, Oregon; students performing physical exercises outdoors; unidentified scenes in an office, of residences, of people, and of ships; and scenes that may be associated with the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition.

June D. Drake photographs, 1860-1955

Abstract: This collection consists of photographs taken by June D. Drake and the Drake Bros. Studio. They primarily document the town of Silverton, Oregon, and surrounding areas from approximately 1900-1955. Includes portraits of townspeople and views of businesses, streets, organizations, and homes in Silverton and vicinity, as well as Mount Angel and Salem, Oregon, and photographs of agriculture, the lumber industry, and transportation, among many other subjects. Of special interest are Drake's photos of the area now known as Silver Falls State Park, which he helped to establish.

Wiggins photographs, 1895-1940

Abstract: Collection consists of photographic prints and negatives that date from approximately 1895-1940; they relate to the family of Donegan Reeder Wiggins and depict the Oregon coast and central Willamette Valley. Also included are glass negatives taken by staff photographers for the Oregon Journal newspaper, which depict people and events around Portland from approximately 1910 to 1925, and glass negatives that depict Washington Park and the construction of the Lewis and Clark Exposition circa 1905.

Abstract: The Eldon J. Gardner photos (1936-1986) contain autobiographical and biographical materials, class notes, personal and professional reasearch materials. Eldon John Gardner (1909-1989) was a professor of zoology at the Utah State University, Salinas College in California, and the University of Utah. He was also a geneticist, a researcher, a writer, and an administrator.

Otis B. Wight Base Hospital 46 glass plate negative collection, 1918-1919

Abstract: The collection consists of two sets of glass plate silver bromide negatives. The images were taken by Otis B. Wight, M.D., and are of Base Hospital 46 and staff stationed in Bazoilles-sur-Meuse, France during World War I. During the war, Wight served as Captain as well as the Chief of Medical Service at the base hospital. In addition to military service, Wight practiced as a physician and surgeon in Portland, Oregon for many years.
