The Albany Timber Carnival, a popular event in Oregon's Willamette Valley, ran from 1941 until 2000 and often took place in July to coincide with Independence Day. Activities included parades, logging sports, and fireworks displays, and the event included a royal court of princesses from Albany and other nearby communities.
