Biographical Note

Russell Ross, born in 1929, received his D.D.S. from Columbia University in 1955 and his Ph.D from the University of Washington in 1962. Immediately following his graduation, Ross became a research fellow in UW's Pathology Department, eventually becoming a full professor in 1969. In addition to serving as chair of the Pathology Department from 1982 through 1994, Ross was the Director of UW's Center for Vascular Biology from 1990-1999.

    Scope and Content: Collection contains two series organized by donor: correspondence and travel files; 1970-1999 (bulk 1988-1998). Correspondence files document Ross' tenure as Professor of Pathology as well as his service as Director of the Center for Vascular Biology. Also includes correspondence on collaborative research projects with scholars and practicioners both inside and outside the University of Washington community. The travel files document his research trips, consultation contracts, speaking engagements, lectures, and professional papers.
