		  lectures, and professional papers.</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_"><p>Russell Ross, born in 1929, received his D.D.S. from Columbia
		  University in 1955 and his Ph.D from the University of Washington in 1962.
		  Immediately following his graduation, Ross became a research fellow in UW's
		  Pathology Department, eventually becoming a full professor in 1969. In addition
		  to serving as chair of the Pathology Department from 1982 through 1994, Ross
