- Shared Ministry in Utah was a coalition of Protestant denominations that was established in 1977 and disbanded in 1996. The Shared Ministry in Utah (1977-1996) was a coalition of Protestant denominations established in 1977 with the goal of cooperating to increase their power in an area where they viwed themselves as a religious minority. Initially the group was a loose partnership between two denominations in 1971, growing to three by 1977, at which time it adopted the name “Shared Ministry.” The coalition was particularly focused on community service and ministry to college-aged students and provided programs such as summer camps and leadership training. By the 1990s, the Shared Ministry had grown to six participating denominations: Presbyterian Church USA, United Methodist Church, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), United Church of Christ, American Baptist Church, and the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The Shared Ministry in Utah dissolved through mutual agreement of the six participating denominations in 1996.

The Shared Ministry in Utah photograph collection consists of 1 box containing 591 black-and-white and color prints and negatives. During processing, photographs were removed from a yellow 3-ring binder. Photographs were matched to negatives wherever possible. While the collection contains images that may date from approximatey 1980 to 1995, a large proportion of the images document a celebration held in 1987. Folders one and two originally contained the bulk of the photographs from Celebration 1987 and the corresponding negatives were in a separate folder. Efforts were made to match the negatives to the photographs, and each set of negatives and photos got their own folder. Photos that were not able to be matched to negatives were kept in the first and second folder titled "Celebration '87." Other than the noted exceptions, photographs were kept in orignal order.
