- Pat Miller (1948-2013) served as head coach of the University of Utah Ski Team, as president of the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association and as a member of the National Collegiate Athletics Association Skiing Rules Committee. This collection consists of digital-only photographs of Miller's personal life as well as photographs depicting the University of Utah Ski Team and ski-related events and activities. This collection is entirely digitalized and available online in our Digital Library.

Patrick "Pat" N. Miller (1948-2013) was born in Mexico, Maine and attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. He was a member of the United States national Nordic combined ski team from 1968 to 1974. Miller was named "All-American in Nordic Combined" (1970). Miller received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Fort Lewis and his Masters of Commercial Recreation from the University of Utah (1976). In 1974, he began working as an assistant ski coach. In 1976, he became head coach of the Men's and Women's Ski Team, a position he held for 21 years. Under his leadership, the team won several championships on the local and national level.
In addition to the work done with the University of Utah Ski Team, Miller also served as the Chair of the selection committee for collegiate skiing's All-American Team (1979), the Utah sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors, and on the boards of ski archives for both the Marriott Library and the state of Utah. Honors include: Utah Sports Hall of Fame; Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame; Main Ski Hall of Fame; and the Fort Lewis Athletic Hall of Fame. Pat Miller died in June 2013.

The collection was donated in four batches. The first one was in 2008 containing only digital scans. The second one was in 2012 containing news clippings, U of U Ski Team media guides, patches, resume and photographs. The third one in was in April 2013 containing photographs. The last one in was in July 2013 containing photographs, U of U Ski Team and NCAA media guides, news clippings, publications with articles about U of U Ski Team.
