- Henry Wallace (1840-1932) was an immigrant from England who converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and came to Utah in 1862. This collection contains black-and-white portraits and photographs of members of the Wallace family dating from approximately the early 20th century.

Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Henry Wallace (1840-1932) was born in in 1840, in Frome, Somersetshire, England to John and Elizabeth Ashley Wallace. A convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he came to Utah in 1862 with the Ansel Harmon company. In 1863, he married Ellen Harper (1837-1917), and together they had eight children. The family lived in Salt Lake City, where Henry Wallace worked as a manager of the National Biscuit Company, as well as a confectioner and baker. He was also a school trustee and a city councilman. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Henry Wallace served as a president of the 23rd quorum seventies, a bishops counselor in the 7th ward, and was a member of the Pioneers Stake. Henry Wallace died in 1932.

The Henry Wallace Family photograph collection consists of 1 box containing 15 black-and-white photographs. The images consist of portraits and photographs of members of the Wallace family dating from approximately 1900 to 1940.
