Biographical Note
Frederick Grubb was a British poet and literary critic. He attended Cambridge, later teaching English at universities in Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia. He died in England in 2017.
Content Description
An unpublished manuscript of approximately 100,000 words by poet and critic Frederick Grubb. It includes chapters entitled “Ethical Culture: E.M. Forster & The Bloomsbury Group”, “Embattled Truth: Isaac Rosenberg and Wilfred Owen”, “Bird’s Eye and Worm’s Eye: Dylan Thomas and W.H. Auden, and others concerning Rilke, Rimbaud, and Yeats. The manuscript has handwritten corrections by the author, as well as a literary agent’s typed cover sheet with comments by Sir Herbert Read, Philip Toynbee, Colin Wilson, and Stuart Holroyd.
