These files contain various personnel actions collected together for an individual in a "Personal Record" jacket. Records can include appointments, official bonds, oaths of office, examinations, applications, and resignations. Some of the files contain a single document and some contain multiple pages of correspondence and reports. Most files contain basic information like the individual’s name, appointment date, position title, and department. Position titles represented in the collection reflect the needs of the city during the time, for example: poisoner; trapper; assistant milk inspector; city bacteriologist; assistant herder; bookfinder; and quarantine officer.
