Historical Note
Grace Shinell was a feminist author and journalist. She published an essay titled “Women's Collective Spirit: Exemplified and Envisioned” in The Politics of Women's Spirituality: Essays by Founding Mothers of the Movement published in 1994. Shinell contributed to the journal Heresies Quarterly, a feminist publication on arts and politics that was dedicated to the topic of “The Great Goddess.”
Content Description
The collection contains advertisements, newsletters, news clippings, pamphlets, periodicals, reports, and books all regarding women (organizations, workshops, centers, abortions and other related subjects). Also includes a letter to Shinell from feminist activist Anita Murray, 1973.
