Historical Background

The Oasis Road House or the Oasis Suburban Restaurant was a traditional dining establishment that also functioned as a supper club. The term may describe different establishments depending on the region, but in general supper clubs tend to present themselves as having a high-class image, even if the price is affordable to all. The Oasis was located at the corner of Aurora Avenue and 140th Street in Seattle, Washington. Dancing and entertainment occurred from 9:00 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. daily.
