				performed at the Oasis Suburban Restaurant (also known as Oasis Club or Oasis Road
				House) in Seattle</abstract>

		<bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2">
			<p>Leo Fleury was born on April 24, 1916 to Edward and Erma Fleury who owned a grocery
				store in Seattle. He served in the Navy in WWII, participating in the Aleutian
				Campaign, and attained the rank of Chief Pharmacist Mate. He also served on the USS
					<emph render="italic"> Texas </emph>. After the war, he became the manager of
				the Oasis Road House where he worked until 1948. While at the Oasis, he was
				responsible for booking all the entertainment which is when he acquired many signed
				photographs of the entertainers. In 1948, after he left the Oasis, he established an
				accounting practice which continued until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Fleury was a
				member of the Washington State Society of Certified Public Accountants, worked with
				the State Board of Accountancy, was a co-founder of an accountants roundtable
				discussion group and an assistant to the Washington Tax Conference. He was a member
				of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, and the Italian Club.</p>

			<p>The Oasis Road House or the Oasis Suburban Restaurant was a traditional dining
				establishment that also functioned as a supper club. The term may describe different
				establishments depending on the region, but in general supper clubs tend to present
				themselves as having a high-class image, even if the price is affordable to all. The
				Oasis was located at the corner of Aurora Avenue and 140th Street in Seattle,
				Washington. Dancing and entertainment occurred from 9:00 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.
				daily.</p>
