Henry Chariton Jacobs, Jr. (1876-1967) and Alberta Marie Larsen Jacobs (1882-1940) were a married couple and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who lived in Mount Pleasant, Utah. This collection largely documents Alberta Larsen Jacobs' college years at Utah State Agricultural College and her involvement in the Sorosis Society and other women's groups and clubs in the early twentieth century.

Henry Chariton Jacobs, Jr. was born on March 15, 1876 in Prattville, Utah, to Susan Stringham and Henry Chariton Jacobs, Sr. Alberta Marie Larsen was born on October 18, 1882 in Mount Pleasant, Utah, to Eliza Maria Tidwell and James Larsen. Alberta Larsen and Henry Jacobs married on December 17, 1902; together they had four children. After marriage, the couple moved to Alberta, Canada, where Henry Jacobs managed a mercantile business until they moved back to Mount Pleasant, Utah in 1909. In Mount Pleasant, Henry Jacobs owned a mortuary until retirement in 1956. Henry and Alberta Jacobs were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and both held positions in the Church. He also served as a city councilman for Mount Pleasant and was a member of the Sanpete School Board. Alberta Marie Larsen Jacobs attended Utah State Agricultural College and Brigham Young University. She organized the first Women's Club in Mount Pleasant in 1900, also known as the Twentieth Century Club, and served as the club's president for two years.

Alberta Marie Larsen Jacobs died on August 7, 1940. Henry Chariton Jacobs, Jr. died on January 18, 1967.

The Henry Chariton and Alberta Maria Larsen Jacobs photograph collection consists of 1 box containing 18 images. Folder 1 contains a photograph album that is inscribed "From Burton June 1902" on the cover interior and "Dorothy Buchanan Richfield, Utah Pictures 1898-1900." Images depict a city, perhaps Richfield; mining operations; groups of unidentified young women; and groups of people outdoors at an event with a band. The other two folders contain images of women's societies and clubs that Alberta Larsen Jacobs was a member of between 1898 and the 1930s. All the photographs are black-and-white or likely albumin print cabinet cards.
