Historical Note
Henry Chariton Jacobs, born 15 March 1876 in Prattville, Utah, met Alberta Maria Larsen in Mt. Pleasant and married her on 17 December 1903. They immediately moved to Alberta, Canada, where Henry managed a mercantile business until their return to Mt. Pleasant in 1909. After that he owned a mortuary until his retirement in 1956. Henry served in many positions in the LDS Church as well as in the community, including his tenure as a city councilman and a member of the Sanpete School Board. He died in 1967. Alberta Maria Larsen Jacobs, born 18 October 1882 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, attended the Utah State Agricultural College and Brigham Young University. She organized the first Women's Club in Mt. Pleasant in 1900, also known as the Twentieth Century Club, and served as the club's president for two years. In addition to being a mother of four, she also held many prominent positions in her community and church. She passed away on 7 August 1940.
