Content Description

Bornstein Seafoods was founded in 1930 in Bellingham, Washington, by Myer A. Bornstein. The company took a leading role in developing markets for Pacific Northwest bottom fish such as perch, rockfish, and flounder. The collection includes a scrapbook, numerous photographs, and documentation of a 1985 fire that destroyed the plant (it was later rebuilt). The collection also includes 1939 and 1941 Wholesale Fish and Shellfish Reports, which were completed for the state of Washington.
