This collection documents Bornstein Seafoods and its fishing
and retail activities. The collection includes scrapbooks, photographs, documentation of a
fire at the plant, and reports.

Bornstein Seafoods was founded in 1930 in Bellingham, Washington, by Myer A. Bornstein. The
company took a leading role in developing markets for Pacific Northwest bottom fish such as
perch, rockfish, and flounder. The collection includes a scrapbook, numerous photographs,
and documentation of a 1985 fire that destroyed the plant (it was later rebuilt). The
collection also includes 1939 and 1941 Wholesale Fish and Shellfish Reports, which were
completed for the state of Washington.
The collection is open to the public.
