Historical Note

During World War II, as many as 120,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry were placed in Internment camps as a result of Executive Order 9066. The Minidoka War Relocation Center was located 17 miles northeast of Twin Falls, Idaho and is now a National Historic Site. The internment camp was in operation from 1942-1945 and housed more than 9,000 Japanese Americans.

Collection of newspaper clippings about the Japanese-American internment camps during World War II, including Minidoka War Relocation Center (also known as the Hunt Camp) in Jerome County, Idaho and Posten camp on the Colorado River Indian Tribes Reservation in Arizona. Also includes a hand-drawn map and index of farms in the area of the "Hunt Camp," now referred to as the Minidoka Relocation Center.
