Historical Note

The Alumni Association first occupied the house at 1471 Federal Way, near the University of Utah campus, as its headquarters in November of 1963. By the mid-1970's, this location was inadequate for the Association's needs, so a fundraising campaign was launched in 1977 to build a new headquarters on campus. Groundbreaking for the new facility took place on March 2, 1979. The new Alumni House at 155 Campus Drive was oficially opened on June 3, 1980.

Content Description

This collection primarily consists of blueprints, correspondence, memoranda, and minutes documenting the Alumni Association's drive, lasting from 1977 to 1980, to fundraise, plan, construct, and relocate into the Alumni House located at 155 Campus Drive on the University of Utah campus. This collection also covers the Alumni Association's campaign to renovate the Block U on the mountain above the the north-east corner of the University of Utah campus from 1967 to 1970.
