Robert Kenneth Cook was an American flight navigator during World War II until his plane was shot down by Germans and he was taken prisoner. Historical Note

“Kenny” Cook was an American flight navigator during World War II until his plane was shot down by Germans and he was taken prisoner. He spent the remainder of the war in Stalag Luft III, Sagan, Germany, until his liberation by Allied Forces in April, 1945.

Content Description

This collection consists of a bound photocopy of the journal he kept during his time as a prisoner of war. The journal contains Cook’s art work, stories from Cook and other prisoners, how they spent their days, what kinds of foods they ate, and copies of clippings taken from German newspapers during this time highlighting the last push of the Germans before the advancing Allied Forces.
