2 boxes, (2 boxes of papers and 4 rolled maps. ) : The collection has been kept in unsafe conditions in a barn before being donated. This resulted in the materials badly burnt or covered with mold or warped. The worst damaged papers have been discarded. The Special Collections staff made efforts to restore some of the discarded pages by scanning those and digitally removing the fire and mold stains

Content Description
The collection consists of materials provided by Nathan Herschel Bogue, a railway engineer at the O.C& E railway. The collection contains maps, logs, photographs, blueprints, invoices and notebooks. Folder titles include: track laying specs, Bogue Strahorn correspondence, O.C.& E rights of way, payroll, O.C & E labor expenses, and many other materials. Materials date from 1912 to 1928
Historical Note
Nathan Bogue was educated at he University of Minnesota 1900-1904. He was married to Isabella and had at least one child. In the early 1920s, Bogue bought some farmland east of Merrill, Oregon. Nathan Bogue worked on the Oregon California and Eastern (OC&E) railroad as a Civil Engineer, employed by Robert E. Strahorn, President of the OC&E. Bogue was a "route" engineer, trained to survey routes for railways, determine grades, and calculate construction costs.
