The worst damaged papers have been discarded. Nathan Bogue was educated at he University of Minnesota 1900-1904. He was married to Isabella and had at least one child. In the early 1920s, Bogue bought some farmland east of Merrill, Oregon. Nathan Bogue worked on the Oregon California and Eastern (OC&E) railroad as a Civil Engineer, employed by Robert E. Strahorn, President of the OC&E. Bogue was a "route" engineer, trained to survey routes for railways, determine grades, and calculate construction costs.
