Historical Note
Ezra Pound, a prominent poet, was charged with treason for broadcasting pro-fascist propaganda into the U.S. during WWII, and he was later found mentally unfit to stand trial, spending years in a psychiatric hospital.
Pound was indicted on nineteen counts of treason.
He was eventually found mentally unfit to stand trial and incarcerated at St. Elizabeth's psychiatric hospital in Washington, D.C., for over 12 years.
After his release in May 1958, he returned to Italy, where he died and was buried in 1972.

Summary of parts 1-9, and parts 10-14 with deletions, of record of FBI investigation of treason charges against Ezra Pound. Accompanied by letters from Clarence M. Kelley, FBI director, to Milo G. Nelson, University of Idaho Library (January 16 and February 6, 1974), and a letter from Doris D. Blazek to Nelson asserting an interest of the Pound estate in the files (January 16, 1975). This is not a full copy of the FBI file on Ezra Pound.
