      <p>Ezra Pound, a prominent poet, was charged with treason for broadcasting pro-fascist propaganda into the U.S. during WWII, and he was later found mentally unfit to stand trial, spending years in a psychiatric hospital. </p>
      <p>Pound was indicted on nineteen counts of treason. </p>
      <p>He was eventually found mentally unfit to stand trial and incarcerated at St. Elizabeth's psychiatric hospital in Washington, D.C., for over 12 years. </p>
      <p>After his release in May 1958, he returned to Italy, where he died and was buried in 1972. </p>
