Historical Background

ʔayʔaǰuθəm is a Coast Salish language historically spoken in the northern Georgia Strait region of Canada. It is spoken by the Tla’amin, Homalco, Klahoose, and Comox First Nations. Efforts by First Nations and Canadian academics are underway to revitalize and revive ʔayʔaǰuθəm.
