Historical Note

The Harrison Woman's Club was founded in 1914 as the Home Betterment Club. The club voted to change its name in June 1915. The club's purpose was to be the "mutual improvement of its members in Art, Literature, Science, domestic and vital interests of the day, or any other subject chosen." The club was assisted in organizational matters by members of the Cardwell Country Club.

The Harrison Woman's Club joined the Montana Federation of Women's Clubs in 1916. It was also a member of the Madison County Federation of Women's Clubs. Among the activities of the club, in addition to its educational programs, were the founding of a club library, provision of hot lunches for school children, support for the Shodair Children's Home and Hospital, and an annual clean-up day.

During the 1950s, the Harrison Woman's Club became an affiliate of Montana State College's Home Demonstration Club program.
