Historical NoteReturn to Top

The Southern States Communication Association (SSCA) is a not-for-profit professional organization. It was founded in 1930 in Alabama. Like the National Communication Association, the SSCA focuses on the artistic aspects of speech. The SSCA publishes the Southern Communication Journal and holds a convention every year. The SSCA’s stated purpose “is to promote the study, criticism, research, teaching, and application of the artistic, humanistic, and scientific principles of communication.”
