Content DescriptionReturn to Top

The collection consists of records and memorabilia of the Oregon Girls Conference, an annual interdenominational Christian gathering of high school and college-age women that was also known as the Oregon Older Girls' Conference or the Older Girls' Conference. The bulk of the collection consists of administrative records and conference programs. These include planning records and other materials for individual conferences in the 1970s and 1980s, president's records from the 1970s and 1980s, a record book with handwritten minutes and programs from 1913 to 1934, instructions about duties and ceremonies, a 1963 directory, and records and memorabilia gathered by conference member Pat Berger in the 1980s. Conference programs not in the record book span from the 1920s to the 1980s. Other materials in the collection include songbooks, 1970s issues of the newsletter "Tie-Line," a guestbook, work packets from the 1930s, clippings, and photographs. Photographs include prints and negatives taken by Ruth Else of the 1937 International Council of Religious Education youth conference held at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, which she and Betty Britton attended as Oregon Girls Conference delegates.
