Historical NoteReturn to Top
Phi Epsilon Kappa was founded in 1913 and describes itself as a “national professional fraternity for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine and sports management.” Washington State College’s branch was organized during the 1931-1932 school year as Phi Epsilon, and became officially affiliated with Phi Epsilon Kappa as the Alpha Gamma chapter in late 1933. WSU’s chapter seems to have gone inactive circa 2002 or so.
Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The majority of the collection consists of meeting minutes, correspondence, and other documents related to the organization of the campus branch, and to events it hosted or participated in. Also included are membership lists, annual reports, and sets of mostly unlabeled and undated photographs. The bulk of the materials date from the 1970s and early 1980s.
