When these letters were collected in 1929, Walter R. May was editor of the morning edition of The Oregonian.
Content Description
The Walter R. May letter collection consists of ten letters written to May in 1929. May wrote to a number of national leaders to ask what advice they would give to young people about to graduate. The letters include replies from a labor leader; the president of U.S. Steel; the president of American Telephone and Telegraph; and Herbert Hoover, President of the United States, among others.
