Content DescriptionReturn to Top
This collection consists mainly of abstracts of title describing the history of ownership to facilitate real estate transactions. These abstracts were completed by outside companies for the Almira State Bank. The collection also contains a small amount of other real estate transaction documents, notably materials related to the sale of land facilitated by the Almira State Bank for the Columbia Basin Project.
Historical NoteReturn to Top
Julius Johnson (1864-1949) served as the President of the Almira (WA) State Bank, as well as the first mayor of the town of Almira when it was incorporated in 1903. The Almira State Bank facilitated many land sales in the region, and the abstracts of title in this collection cover Douglas, Grant, and Lincoln counties.
