         <p>This collection consists mainly of abstracts of title describing the history of ownership to facilitate real estate transactions. These abstracts were completed by outside companies for the Almira State Bank. The collection also contains a small amount of other real estate transaction documents, notably materials related to the sale of land facilitated by the Almira State Bank for the Columbia Basin Project.</p>

         <p>This collection is arranged in two series. Series 1 consists of abstracts of title, arranged by county and then in chronological order. Series 2 is a single folder of other land transaction documentation, arranged chronologically.</p>  
      </arrangement>
      <bioghist encodinganalog="545">
    
         <p>Julius Johnson (1864-1949) served as the President of the Almira (WA) State Bank, as well as the first mayor of the town of Almira when it was incorporated in 1903. The Almira State Bank facilitated many land sales in the region, and the abstracts of title in this collection cover Douglas, Grant, and Lincoln counties.</p>
