Historical NoteReturn to Top

James Levingston Summers was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on September 11, 1910. He attended Chaffey College in 1928, the University of Wisconsin from 1928-1930, and the University of California in 1939. Throughout his literary career, Summers prided himself on the development and control of writing techniques. Throughout his career, besides being a children's author, Summers was also a high school teacher. He died in 1973.
