Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Walter A. Perkins (circa 1876-1940) of Yakima, WA, served in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War as a member of Company E, Infantry, First Washington Volunteers. After his return, he lived in Seattle and also in the eastern part of Washington State. He served as a Seattle police officer, and became prominent in the real estate business and in politics with the Washington State Democratic Party.

This collection consists of a scrapbook created by Walter Perkins during and shortly after his service as a private in Company E, Infantry, First Washington Volunteers, in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War, and a small amount of miscellaneous material. The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, official documents related to Perkins's military service, calling cards, photographs, and letters.
