  		<p>Walter A. Perkins (circa 1876-1940) of Yakima, WA, served in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War as a member of Company E, Infantry, First Washington Volunteers. After his return, he lived in Seattle and also in the eastern part of Washington State. He served as a Seattle police officer, and became prominent in the real estate business and in politics with the Washington State Democratic Party.<?xm-replace_text {Text of biographical or historical note, in paragraphs; separate each with paragraph tags}?></p>
