Historical NoteReturn to Top
Washington State University's Anthropology Department dates to the 1954-1955 school year, though Anthropology classes had previously been offered in Sociology (Sociology and Anthropology would in fact occasionally merge or split, becoming one or two departments). Anthropology moved into College Hall prior to the 1984-1985 school year, and the building was partially renovated for them prior to the move. Previously Anthropology had been in a number of locations, notably Todd, Johnson (the museum only), Avery, and the former Pine Manor (this order is loosely chronological).
Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The collection consists of 14 sheets of architectural drawings, including some transparencies and negatives. Five sheets related to the Anthropology Storage Building (campus building 0358E) are standard architectural planning detailing floor, electricity, heating, etc. Nine sheets related to a College Hall renovation include one museum floor plan and then artistic representations of the museum, flint knapping lab, and west entrance.
