Historical NoteReturn to Top

Regents Hill was constructed in 1952 as two dormitory units plus a central building with lounge and dining facilities. The official names of the buildings are Frank J. Barnard, Peter McGregor and John W. Stearns Halls but the residence hall governance structure and popular reference favor usage of the name Regents Hill. It was designed and has been used continuously as a women's residence.

At the time of the opening, the dormitory was divided into four sections with each section containing two floors of a building. The sections were governed by a council of elected and appointed officers. The dormitory was governed by an executive council comprised of officials elected by the entire dormitory and a house cabinet which included hallway and section officers.
