Richard L. Hausenbuiller was a soil scientist at Washington State University (WSU) from 1942-1983, which includes work Hausenbuiller performed as a student at WSU. Hausenbuiller graduated from his PhD program at WSU in 1951 and worked at the Irrigated Experiment Station in Prosser as Professor of Soils. He transferred to the Pullman campus in 1960, where he worked until his retirement. Hausenbuiller's work covered methods used in soil testing and the soil composition of Eastern and Central Washington. Hausenbuiller also published a textbook called Soil Science: Principles and Practices.
