Historical NoteReturn to Top

William Wallace Newby received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 1926, his masters of science degree from Iowa State College in 1927, and his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1939. Genetics and molecular biology were Newby's specialties leading him to chair the Department of Genetics and Cytology at the University of Utah from 1948-1962. He served on various other committees and received the Distinguished Teaching Award.
