Margaret Parton papers, 1885-1981

Abstract: Margaret Parton (1915-1981) was a journalist, critic, and author. She was educated at the Lincoln School of Teachers in New York City and at Swarthmore College. The collection comprises materials that deal extensively with the personal and professional life of Parton and her family at home and abroad throughout the 20th century.

Abstract: This collection includes the family papers of Charles Erskine Scott Wood and his son Erskine Wood. The materials collected by Erskine include almost 2,000 family letters, diaries, photographs, and original works of art by C.E.S. Wood. Some of the photographs and diaries document Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce, and his family.
