James Fergus Family Papers, 1834-1967

Abstract: The collection consists of family papers and business records of James Fergus, rancher, businessman, political figure and pioneer of Armells, Montana, and papers of his son Andrew Fergus. The collection also contains papers of Pamelia Dillin Fergus and her family including the Dillin, McHose and Neill families as well as correspondence of the families of the Fergus daughters including the Gilpatrick, Hamilton and Maury families. Materials consist of correspondence, financial and legal papers, business records, photos, and ephemera. The collection represents the social, political, and economic conditions of ranchers, families, businessmen and early pioneers of Montana from the 1850s to the 1920s.
Sherburne Family Papers, 1823-1962

Abstract: This collection includes correspondence, financial, legal, organizational, photographic, and audio records generated or collected by Joseph Herbert Sherburne and his extended family, with particular representation from the family's business enterprises along the Northern Rocky Mountain Front Range and the Blackfeet Indian Reservation during the early twentieth century.
Duncan-Packer Family Papers, circa 1900-1948

Abstract: Primarily business records, letters, receipts, gas and oil leases, and other legal documents created or collected by the Troy Duncan or Erwin Packer families. Subjects include homesteading, Liberty county and communities therein, oil and gas exploration and leasing, and sheep and cattle ranching.
Charles L. Anceney Letters, 1888-1890

Abstract: The Charles L. Anceney Letters consist of two messages sent by Anceney to Edward John Carter in Helena, Montana on May 20, 1888 and January 12, 1890. Locations include Hamilton and Moreland. The letters discuss mortgage notes on the Anceney, family member health, and cattle condition at the Anceney and feed availability.
