Tim DeChristopher Protest photograph collection, 2008-2011

Abstract: Timothy Mansfield “Tim” DeChristopher (1981-) is an environmental and climate activists who was arrested and sentenced to two years in federal prison for disrupting a United States Bureau of Land Mangement oil and gas lease auction December 19, 2008, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This collection contains color photographs documenting DeChristopher's protest and sentencing.
Dwight Fay Rettie papers, 1916-2008

Abstract: Dwight Fay Rettie worked for and managed a variety of Federal government agencies from 1955 to 1986. The Papers contain documents pertaining to Rettie's work for various government agencies including the Department of Health and Human Services, National Park Service, and Bureau of Land Management. The materials include policy papers, subject files, meeting minutes, speeches, and correspondence. Also included are personal correspondence, writings, and publication materials.
Charles McKinley papers, 1930-1968

Abstract: Charles McKinley was a professor of political science at Reed College in Portland, Oregon from 1918 to 1960. He was particularly interested in the theory and practice of public administration and planning. As a specialist in these fields, he often served on government committees and commissions and he also wrote studies on the impact of the Federal government in the Pacific Northwest. The collection consists of files accumulated for specific projects undertaken for government or private agencies, or for personal research. Included are correspondence, minutes, reports, memoranda, position papers, interviews, and documents relating to such groups as the Bonneville Power Administration; California Department of Water Resources; Department of Agriculture Administrative Council; National Planning Board; and the Oregon State Board of Forestry.
Walter Harold Horning papers, 1937-1961

Abstract: Walter Harold Horning was the chief forester for the Bureau of Land Management, adviser for legislation to control Oregon and California revested lands, proponent of Mt. Olympus National Park and Department of Conservation. The collection consists of Horning's school notes and his work papers, including correspondence, reports, field notes, and photographs.

Abstract: The David Charles Williams papers (1971-2002) consists of the papers and correspondence on enviromental policy and workshops collected while Williams was the Chief of Planning and Enviromental Coordination for the Bureau of Land Management in the Department of the Interior. David Charles Williams spent his entire career in public service, including many years with the Bureau of Land Management.
H. Byron Mock papers, 1881-2004

Abstract: The H. Byron Mock papers (1881-2004) consist of personal and business materials. Mock served for a number of years in the Bureau of Land Management as Director of the Colorado-Utah Region, as a member of the Public Land Law Review, and also had a private legal firm. The majority of his work deals with mining and grazing rights in the West.

Abstract: The excavation of the Jarvie site report describes the excavation of a nineteenth-century store in Brown's Park, Utah, accomplished during the summers of 1982 and 1983 under the supervision of Pamela G. Smith. The excavation was undertaken as an aid in the interpretation and reconstruction of the site as outlined in the John Jarvie Ranch Recreation Management Plan, 1980.
