George Dollinger Pyper papers, 1834-1975

Abstract: The George Dollinger Pyper papers (1834-1975) consist primarily of correspondence, scrapbooks, diaries, news clippings, programs, contracts, scripts, broadsides, and scores documenting George Dollinger Pyper's career as manager of the Salt Lake Theatre. Pyper served as manager of the Salt Lake Theatre from 1898 to 1929. He also served as general superintendent of the Deseret Sunday School Union and as a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Some of the materials have been digitized and are available online.
David Oman McKay papers, 1897-1983

Abstract: The David Oman McKay papers (1897-1983) contain correspondence, diaries, notebooks, scrapbooks, speeches, and sermons relating to the personal and ecclesiastical life of David O. McKay (1873-1970), ninth president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church/Mormon Church). The collection is divided into four sections and also contains materials relating to members of McKay's family, including his wife, Emma Ray; his daughter, Lou Jean; and his son, David Lawrence (David L.). These materials include letters, receipts, notebooks, and travel memorabilia.

Abstract: The Rosezella Dalton Hardy papers (1912-1983) consists of diaries which Hardy kept throughout her life, along with notebooks, news clippings, and miscellaneous documents. Rosezella Dalton Hardy was born in Roy, Utah, attended the Smithsonian Business College in Ogden, and served a mission to the Eastern States for the LDS Church from 1919 to 1923.

Abstract: The First Congregational Church records (1953-2010) contain annual reports, a history of the church, copies of sermons, member directories, and Congregational Clarion , a church newsletter. The First Congregational Church, which was established in Salt Lake City in 1865, is a spiritual descendant of the "pilgrims" or "puritans" who migrated to America in the seventeenth century. A distinctive and central value of congregational churches is the autonomy of the local congregation. They also have a heritage of liberal theology, social activism, and ecumenism.

The Provo Community Congregational Church was one of the earliest churches organized in the state of Utah.

The Church Historian's Office compiled a 1200-volume chronological scrapbook using diaries, letters, newspapers, sermons, and other materials.
