397 black and white photographs concerning the University of Washington Arboretum, 1930s-1980s. Includes landscaping projects (Japanese Tea Garden, Arbor Day Planting); structures (gatehouse, greenhouse, bridges, etc.); aerial views, general views and vistas; maps; Works Progress Administration activities; various people and social functions; plant species and general Northwest landscape views; other botanical gardens and private estates. 1 album with 219 photographs by Frederick Leister entitled "Pcitures taken on Eastern trip. Arboretums - parks - botanical gardens and private estates. Sept. - Nov."
