Historical Note
Kiichi and Itsu Hama Shiosaki were Japanese American immigrants in the early 20th century. Kiichi Shiosaki worked for the railroad, which brought the family to live in various places in Idaho: Rockford, Lamont, Tabor. In 1927, the Shiosaki family moved to the Fort Hall Indian Reservation (between Pocatello and Blackfoot) while Kiichi worked for the Union Pacific Railroad from Fort Hall to Tabor (small rural community west of Blackfoot). In 1933, the family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, where they settled and raised their four children.
Content Description
The Kiichi and Itsu Shiosaki digital photograph collection consists of 1 digital-only photograph. The original was loaned to the Marriott Library for inclusion in a Japanese American Railroad Workers and Miners exhibit.
The original images were loaned to the library and were scanned and then returned to the donor. The image files can be requested, but the library no longer has the original images.
