Summary
James C. Fletcher was born June 5, 1919 in Millburn, New Jersey. He received a B.A. from Columbia University in 1940 and a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology in 1948. Dr. Fletcher was employed by Aerojet General Corporation when named President of the University of Utah in 1964. He left the University in 1971 to take the position of administrator of NASA. James C. Fletcher died December 22, 1991. This collection contains appointment books, correspondence, memoranda, financial and department records, and annual reports. Included are records concerning University of Utah relations with the Utah State Board of Higher Education and the U.S. Office of Education. Also included are James C. Fletcher's college yearbooks (1937-1939) and a copy of his dissertation (1948).
